INGREDIENTS
2 pounds lean ground beef
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup milk
1 packet (1 oz) onion soup mix
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 white onion, thinly sliced
2 cans (10 oz each) condensed cream of chicken soup
3/4 cup water
1 packet (1 oz) au jus mix
How To Prepare Crockpot Salisbury Steak:
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, onion soup mix, and dried thyme. Mix until well combined, then shape into 8 patties.
Arrange the sliced onion at the bottom of the slow cooker.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Lightly dredge the patties in flour, then brown on both sides.
Place the browned beef patties on top of the sliced onions in the slow cooker, stacking them alternately.
In a separate bowl, mix together condensed soup, water, and au jus packet. Pour the mixture over the beef patties.
Cover and cook on low until the beef is cooked through, approximately 4-5 hours.
