Amish Baked Vanilla Custard

Amish Baked Vanilla Custard

Vanilla holds a special place among my favorite flavors. Given the choice between vanilla and chocolate, I would lean towards vanilla (although I hope such a dilemma never arises). Another aspect of culinary delight for me revolves around Amish custard and custard recipes that boast simplicity in both ingredients and preparation. The Amish Vanilla Custard Recipe encapsulates all these qualities! This velvety four-ingredient custard is crafted with a can of sweetened condensed milk, water, eggs, vanilla, and a pinch of salt—nothing more. After approximately one hour and forty minutes in the oven (bearing in mind that oven times may vary, so start checking after an hour and a half), the custard is crowned with a dusting of ground nutmeg or ground cinnamon, or a harmonious blend of both. You can indulge in this creamy Amish custard at room temperature or chilled. Personally, I prefer mine cold.

This time-tested custard recipe has withstood the sands of time. Serve it for dessert, and witness the sparkle in everyone's eyes as they savor each bite, inevitably requesting more!
