This Asian milk bread recipe is a triumph. Months of searching, testing, and numerous failed attempts finally led us to the perfect recipe for soft, buttery, and fluffy milk bread. The original post dates back to January 17, 2015, and it has remained a hit ever since. Recently, we updated the post with clearer photos, an FAQ section, and improved instructions while keeping the recipe unchanged. Enjoy!


These brioche bread rolls are exceptionally soft, rich, and buttery, not only delightful to eat but also easy to make. Ideal for sandwiches, French toast, or simply on its own. You can even use this recipe to create Brioche Burger Buns or Brioche Cinnamon Rolls!

A few weeks ago, I fulfilled one of my lifelong dreams, albeit a small part of it. It was an incredible and fun experience taking a short course in Viennoiseries at Le Cordon Bleu. Everything about it was just as I had imagined and more!


INGREDIENTS:


2/3 cup heavy cream (at room temperature)


1 cup milk (plus 1 tablespoon, at room temperature; whole, 1%, or 2% milk can be used)


1 large egg (at room temperature)


1/3 cup sugar


4 cups all-purpose flour (alternatively, use 1/2 cup cake flour combined

 with 3 1/2 cups bread flour)


1 tablespoon active dry yeast (or instant yeast)


1 1/2 teaspoons salt


Egg wash (beat 1 egg with 1 teaspoon water)


Simple syrup (1 tablespoon sugar dissolved in 1 tablespoon hot water)
