"I'm Leaving Y'all": Whoopi Goldberg Exits "The View" Amid Controversy Over Miranda Lambert
Whoopi Goldberg exited the set of ABC's The View after a heated debate over a widely circulated video of Miranda Lambert criticizing concertgoers.
The comedian was discussing the incident where Miranda Lambert interrupted her performance to chastise a group of audience members for taking photographs during her song "Tin Man." When Whoopi stood up and left, Sarah Haines, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin were present.
"They paid for tickets and traveled to see her, but they don't want to be there. Well, if she's singing, give her a little respect so that you know you can see her and she can see you too," Whoopi said. However, the other hosts didn't share her opinion.
"I'm not at all divided on this. They were in the VIP section, which cost $757 for tickets. If I paid $757, I'm going to take as many selfies as I want," Sunny said, prompting Whoopi to exit.
As she left the room, the crowd chuckled when she noticed a ninety-one-year-old woman and stopped to take a photo with her. "Because I would want a picture with this 91-year-old amazing lady. We are going to snap a selfie. Together, you and I."
