Apple Fritters

Instructions:

Prepare the Work Area: Place cooling racks over baking sheets lined with wax paper and set aside.

Mix the Batter: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. In another bowl, combine the milk, eggs, and applesauce. Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry, mixing until just combined. Gently fold in the diced apples.

Heat the Oil: In a deep skillet or pot, heat about 2 inches of canola oil to 350°F (175°C). Be careful not to overcrowd the pan when frying.

Fry the Fritters: Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil, frying for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove the fritters and place them on the cooling racks to drain.

Make the Frosting: In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Frost the Fritters: Drizzle the frosting over the warm fritters, letting it set slightly before serving.

These apple fritters are the perfect way to relive fond memories or create new ones. Enjoy!
