Patty Melts with Secret Sauce

Instructions:

Prepare the Patties:

Divide the ground beef into three equal portions and shape them into flattened patties, roughly matching the size and shape of your bread slices.

Season both sides of each patty with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

Cook the Patties:

In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the patties until they are fully cooked through. Once done, remove them from the skillet and set aside.

Prepare the Secret Sauce:

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, chopped bacon, ketchup, sugar, and relish. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly incorporated.

Assemble the Sandwiches:

Wipe the skillet clean and reduce the heat to medium.

Butter one side of each slice of rye bread.

Place three slices of bread, buttered side down, onto the skillet.

On each slice, layer two slices of provolone cheese, followed by a cooked beef patty, and then two slices of cheddar cheese.

Spread a portion of the secret sauce on the unbuttered side of the remaining bread slices and place them on top of each sandwich, sauce side down.

Cook the Patty Melts:

Once the bottom bread slices are toasted and the provolone cheese has melted, carefully flip each sandwich.

Continue cooking until the other side is toasted and the cheddar cheese is melted.

Serve:

Remove the patty melts from the skillet and serve immediately, perhaps with a side of fries or a crisp salad.

Enjoy the rich flavors of these homemade Patty Melts with Secret Sauce, a delightful meal that's sure to satisfy your comfort food cravings.
