Spiced Applesauce Bread Recipe

 


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 loaf pan or line with parchment paper.

  2. Mix wet ingredients – In a large bowl, whisk together applesauce, sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.

  3. Mix dry ingredients – In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.

  4. Combine – Gently fold dry mixture into wet mixture until just combined (don’t overmix).

  5. Bake – Pour into prepared pan and bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  6. Cool & enjoy – Let cool 10 minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.


Tips & Variations

  • Add ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans for crunch.

  • Stir in ½ cup raisins, cranberries, or chocolate chips.

  • Swap cloves for allspice if you prefer a softer spice flavor.

  • For a bakery-style touch: sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top before baking.

  • Warm with a pat of butter.

  • As French toast slices the next morning (!!).
