Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. -
Mix the casserole
In a large bowl, combine shredded chicken, hashbrowns, cheddar cheese, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, melted butter, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined. -
Transfer to baking dish
Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. -
Prepare the topping (optional)
Mix crushed cornflakes with 2 tablespoons of melted butter. Sprinkle over the top of the casserole. -
Bake
Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until bubbly and golden on top. -
Serve
