Instructions

  1. Prepare the cherries
    If using fresh cherries, pit and chop them. If using canned, drain excess liquid. Mix cherries with half the sugar and vanilla extract. Let sit for 10 minutes to macerate.

  2. Prepare the base
    Arrange ladyfingers or sponge cake slices in a serving dish to form a layer at the bottom.

  3. Layer the dessert
    Spoon half of the cherry mixture over the base. Spread half of the whipped cream on top. Repeat with remaining cherries and whipped cream to create a layered effect.

  4. Chill
    Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to let the flavors meld.

  5. Serve
    Garnish with powdered sugar or chocolate shavings if desired. Slice and enjoy the sweet, creamy delight!
