Grandma’s Mashed Potatoes
Steps
1. Boil the potatoes
Place the potato chunks in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 15–20 minutes.
2. Drain and mash
Drain the potatoes well and return them to the pot. Use a potato masher or fork to mash until smooth.
3. Add butter and milk
Mix in the softened butter and warmed milk gradually. Stir until the potatoes are creamy and fluffy.
4. Season to taste
Add salt, pepper, and optional garlic or herbs. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
5. Serve warm
Scoop into a serving dish and enjoy the rich, buttery comfort of homemade mashed potatoes — the kind that reminds you of grandma’s kitchen.
