🍫 Homemade Chocolate Caramel Bites — Better Than Store-Bought Candy

Prepare the caramel

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar, stirring constantly until it becomes a golden amber liquid.

Add the butter in pieces, stirring until fully incorporated.

Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring. Cook for 1–2 minutes until smooth and slightly thickened.

Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Let cool slightly.

Pour and set the caramel

Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.

Pour the caramel into the dish and smooth the top. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, until firm.

Prepare the chocolate coating

Melt chocolate and coconut oil/butter in a heatproof bowl over simmering water (double boiler) or in short bursts in the microwave, stirring frequently until smooth.

Cut and coat the caramel

Remove caramel from the dish and cut into bite-sized squares.

Dip each square into the melted chocolate, coating completely. Place on parchment-lined tray.
