Old-Fashioned Custard Pie



Steps

1. Preheat the oven

Set your oven to 175°C (350°F). Place the unbaked pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and set aside.

2. Prepare the custard

In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, salt, and vanilla until smooth. Gradually stir in the milk until fully combined.

3. Pour into the crust

Carefully pour the custard mixture into the prepared pie crust. Sprinkle the top lightly with nutmeg, if desired.

4. Bake the pie

Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the custard is set but still slightly jiggly in the center. The top should be lightly golden.

5. Cool and serve

Allow the pie to cool completely on a wire rack before slicing. Serve as is, or with a dollop of whipped cream for extra indulgence.
