The Discovery in the Fields
A Quiet Morning, an Unexpected Mystery
The day began like any other for Thomas, a 64-year-old farmer who knew every inch of his land. In the soft, golden glow of early morning, he wandered through his soybean fields, letting his eyes read the soil the way others read a newspaper. Last night’s rain had left the earth breathing with new life — moisture clung to each leaf, and small puddles shimmered under the waking sun.
It was peaceful. Familiar. Routine.
Until something broke the rhythm.
As Thomas reached a low stretch of land, a flicker of color pulled his attention. There, tucked into a shallow patch of damp soil, lay a strange cluster of tiny translucent eggs. They glowed faintly with a blue hue, unlike anything he had ever encountered.
For the first time that morning, Thomas stopped completely.
Whatever these were, they didn’t belong to any creature he knew.
And they were waiting.
