Crinkle Cake (Crispy, Creamy Phyllo Dessert)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Phyllo

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

Grease a baking dish.

Take each sheet of phyllo and crinkle it by scrunching it lightly with your hands.

Arrange all crinkled sheets in the dish.
2. Add the Butter

Pour the melted butter evenly over the crinkled phyllo.

Bake for 10 minutes, then rotate and bake another 10 minutes until lightly golden.
3. Make the Custard

Whisk together milk, cream, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
4. Add Custard & Bake Again

Slowly pour the custard mixture over the hot phyllo.

Return to oven and bake for 30–35 minutes, until golden and set.
5. Make the Syrup

In a saucepan, heat sugar + water until boiling.

Simmer 5 minutes, add lemon juice, then cool.
6. Add the Syrup
-
Pour the cooled syrup over the hot crinkle cake.

Let it soak for at least 15–20 minutes before serving.
