1. Prepare the Pan
Line an 8×8-inch dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
Set aside.
2. Heat the Sugar Mixture
In a saucepan, combine sugar, milk, butter, and salt.
Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring often.
3. Boil to the Right Stage
Once boiling, continue cooking for 4–5 minutes, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and looks glossy.
4. Add the Chocolate and Marshmallows
Remove from heat.
Stir in chocolate chips and marshmallows until completely melted and smooth.
5. Finish the Fudge
Add the vanilla extract and nuts (if using).
Mix well.
6. Pour and Set
Spread the fudge into the prepared dish.
Smooth the top with a spatula.
Let cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for 1–2 hours until firm.
