Ranch Baked Pork Chops
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prep the Oven and Meat
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a rimmed baking sheet or baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. Pat the pork chops completely dry with a paper towel, then season both sides evenly with the salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Arrange them in a single layer on the baking sheet.
2. Mix the Ranch Topping
In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and the dry ranch seasoning packet. Use a spoon or fork to mash and stir the ingredients together until they form a smooth, thick, spreadable paste. If you are using cheddar cheese, fold half of it into the mixture now.
3. Blanket the Chops
Spoon a generous dollop of the creamy ranch mixture onto the center of each pork chop. Using the back of the spoon, spread it smoothly across the top surface of the meat, creating an even layer that seals the top completely. If you kept some cheddar cheese aside, sprinkle it over the top of the ranch layer.
4. Bake to Perfection
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes. The exact time will depend entirely on the thickness of your pork chops.
Chef's Tip: To ensure they stay juicy, use a digital meat thermometer. Pull the pork chops out of the oven the second the thickest part of the meat registers 145°F (63°C). Let them rest for 3 to 5 minutes before serving so the juices redistribute throughout the meat.
Great Sides to Pair with This Meal
Because these pork chops are rich, creamy, and deeply savory, they pair beautifully with sides that can balance out the meal:
Roasted Vegetables: Broccoli, asparagus, or green beans roasted right alongside the pork can cut through the richness.
Starch Basics: Serve them over a bed of garlic mashed potatoes, fluffy white rice, or egg noodles to catch any extra creamy sauce that melts off the sides
