Slow Cooker 3-Ingredient Brown Sugar Chicken
How to Make It
Prepare the slow cooker
2 min
Place the raw chicken breasts side by side in an even layer at the bottom of the slow cooker insert.
In a medium bowl, whisk together 1 cup of brown sugar and 1/2 cup of low-sodium soy sauce until the sugar dissolves into a thick syrup. Pour evenly over the chicken.
Slow cook to perfection
3–6 hours
Cover and cook on LOW for 5 to 6 hours or HIGH for 3 to 4 hours, until the chicken is tender and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
Spoon the rich dark sauce over the top of the chicken breasts before serving. For an extra-thick glaze, transfer the remaining liquid from the pot to a small saucepan, simmer for 5 minutes to reduce, and pour back over the chicken.
Serving & Pairing Ideas
Over Jasmine or Basmati Rice: Steamed white or brown rice acts like a sponge, soaking up every last drop of the sweet and savory sauce.
With Steamed Veggies: Pair with crisp-tender broccoli florets, snap peas, or roasted asparagus to balance the richness of the glaze.
Shredded for Tacos or Bowls: Shred the tender chicken right in the sauce to create a delicious filling for wraps, grain bowls, or slider buns
