Southern 3-Ingredient Bacon-Wrapped Tater Bites

How to Make It

1
Prep the oven and baking sheet
5 minutes

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup, then place an oven-safe wire rack on top. Spray the rack lightly with nonstick cooking spray.

2
Wrap and dredge
10 minutes

Cut each strip of bacon into halves or thirds (depending on the tot size). Wrap one piece of bacon snugly around each frozen tater tot. Press the wrapped bite firmly into the bowl of brown sugar to coat all sides evenly.

3
Arrange on the rack
5 minutes

Place the bites seam-side down on the prepared wire rack, leaving a little space between each one so the hot air circulates evenly. If needed, secure the bacon with a wooden toothpick.

4
Bake to golden perfection
20–25 minutes

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the bacon is fully cooked and crisp, and the brown sugar has melted into a glossy glaze.

5
Cool and serve
5 minutes

Remove from the oven and let rest on the rack for 5 minutes. The sugar glaze will harden slightly into a crunchy shell as it cools. Serve warm with favorite dipping sauces!

Baking Tip: Using a wire rack elevated over a foil-lined sheet allows excess bacon fat to drip down, ensuring the bottom of the tater bites stays crunchy rather than soggy!
