Step 1: Wash & Prep
Scrub sweet potatoes thoroughly under running water and pat dry. Pierce each potato several times with a fork to allow steam to escape.
Step 2: Microwave
Place sweet potatoes on a microwave-safe plate. Microwave on high for 5 minutes, then flip and cook for an additional 3–5 minutes, depending on size.
Step 3: Check for Doneness
Insert a fork or knife into the center. If it slides in easily, the sweet potato is done. If not, microwave in 1-minute increments until tender.
Step 4: Rest & Fluff
Let sweet potatoes rest for 1–2 minutes. Slice open lengthwise and fluff the inside with a fork.
Step 5: Add Toppings & Serve
Season and top as desired. Serve warm.
