Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Cook the Potatoes
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Place cubed potatoes in a large pot of boiling water and cook until fork-tender, about 12–15 minutes. Drain and set aside.
2. Prepare the Beef Filling
While potatoes cook, heat a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and chopped onion. Cook until beef is browned, about 8–10 minutes.
Add garlic, salt, and pepper, and cook for 1 more minute.
3. Add Corn and Sauce
Stir in the drained corn and BBQ sauce. Remove from heat and set aside.
4. Mash the Potatoes
Mash the cooked potatoes with cream cheese, butter, milk or cream, salt, black pepper, and white pepper until smooth and creamy.
5. Assemble the Dinner Pie
Spread the beef mixture evenly into a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Top with mashed potatoes, smoothing into an even layer.
Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
6. Bake
Bake for 25–35 minutes, until the cheese is melted and lightly browned around the edges.
