The international figure skating community is in mourning following the tragic passing of 15-year-old Italian junior figure skater Matilda Ferrari, who was fatally struck by a truck while on her way to school.

The heartbreaking accident occurred in Trentino, Italy, as the up-and-coming young athlete was crossing a busy road with friends. Despite immediate medical intervention from rescue workers at the scene, she tragically succumbed to her injuries.

A Rising Star Cut Short

Matilda Ferrari was widely recognized as one of the brightest young prospects in Italian figure skating. Training with the Sporting Ghiaccio Art Pinzolo club, she had recently displayed incredible resilience by fighting her way back from a severe knee injury to resume her competitive career.
