Why You Should NOT Wash Ground Beef
Washing ground beef is not necessary and can actually pose more risks than benefits. Here’s why:
Spread of Bacteria: Raw ground beef contains bacteria like E. coli or Salmonella. Washing it under running water can cause these bacteria to spread to surrounding surfaces, including your sink, countertops, and utensils—a process called cross-contamination.
