  1. Cook the spaghetti according to package directions, then drain and set aside.

  2. In a large skillet, heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat.

  3. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute).

  4. Add the shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook until pink (about 2–3 minutes per side).

  5. Pour in the white wine or chicken broth and bring to a gentle simmer.

  6. Stir in the lemon juice and crushed red pepper flakes if using.

  7. Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
